Bands & Festivals

Bands

Casey is a go-to collaborator for music because she’s all about supporting and contributing to the ensemble, not overpowering it. Her positivity and commitment to the music, the dancers, and the audience means she shines onstage and is a joy to play with.

Playing mostly Turkish, Sephardic, Arabic, Greek and Armenian music, she currently leads the percussion section for NYC’s iconic belly dance bands Carmine & Friends and Scott Wilson & Efendi.

As lead drummer for the well-respected Elias Ladino Ensemble, she is honored to perform the beautiful music of the Sephardic diaspora with Danny Elias (clarinet/vocals) Maurice Sedacca (guitar/oud/vocals) and Marco Brehm (bass.)

Festivals

Proud of her reputation as a festival fan favorite as a workshop facilitator and onstage/afterparty performer, she’s a strong believer in promoting events on social media and through her own extensive contact list. Attendance at her festival workshops consistently exceeds expectations.

Casey believes the ideal take-away for festival percussion workshop attendees is a combination of joy and enthusiasm, so she lovingly prepares her classes with content suitable for success for mixed skill levels. She nurtures novices, engages drum-curious dancers and challenges more experienced drummers. When a live performance is included as a post-workshop option, everyone is encouraged to join in the fun!
